The energy drink I will be reviewing today is Rockstar Roasted Mocha. I’ve noticed more and more brands introducing coffee flavored energy drinks, and I think it’s pretty cool since I’m a big fan of coffee. I believe Monster has around 8 different coffee flavors and Rockstar has 3. A 15 oz can of Rockstar Roasted Mocha packs 120 mg of caffeine, 17 g of sugar, B vitamins, taurine, gingko biloba, guarana, L-carnitine, ginseng, and milk thistle extract.
As far as taste goes, there’s no bitterness or tart taste whatsoever. I was also expecting it to have a lot of carbonation, but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s very smooth and easy to drink, but it tasted a tad bit like watered down chocolate milk. If i could suggest one thing to Rockstar, it would be to thicken it up a little bit.
If you needed a big energy boost early in the morning, needed to down something fast, and had a choice between this and a grande iced coffee from Starbucks, you’d probably want to choose this drink. It might be a little more expensive, but you’ll definitely get more bang, or should I say kick for your buck.
After drinking the Rockstar Roasted Mocha, I had a pretty nice energy buzz going. I was able to stay AMPED for a good 3 to 4 hours. If I didn’t have such a heavy lunch, my energy buzz would probably have lasted a little longer. Also, I’d like to add I experienced little if any jitters or crash with this one.
Ladies and gentleman, here’s my final verdict:
Price: $2.29
Taste: 7.5 out of 10
AMPED Factor: 8.5 out of 10
Interesting Fact: July 31, 2008 JetBlue Airways Corporation announced that customers jetting on flights serviced by its Airbus A320 fleet will soon have the option to upgrade their JetBlue Experience
with ROCKSTAR energy drinks.
