Monster Assault Energy Drink Review

On my way to the gym today I stopped by a CVS/pharmacy and picked up a Monster Assault. I’ve been meaning to try one of these for some time now, so I shelled out $2.65 (tax included) and bought one. The can has your standard Monster “M” on it, except in red, and instead of an all black can, it has a camouflage gray and black color scheme. On the can there’s some interesting content informing consumers that they’re neither for “the war” or against “the War”. Essentially, the message they want to send out is they’re out to battle any energy drink company in their way. So watch out!

Anyways, on to the taste. Monster Assault pretty much tastes like the original monster with a cherry twist to it. So, if you like Monster and the taste of cherry, then you’ll probably favor this one. To me, Monster Drinks taste a little too much like cough syrup, but this one does taste better than the Monster original.

I’m not sure of the exact amount of caffeine this drink contains, but it states on the can that it has a 2500 mg energy blend containing the following ingredients: L-Carnitine, Glucose, Caffeine, Guarana, Inositol, Glucuronolactone, and Maltodextrin.

I’ll have to admit, Monster drinks never fail to get me AMPED. After drinking the Monster Assult, I had enough energy to get through my workout and then some. When I got home I even had enough energy to cook a pretty nice dinner, clean up around the house, and write this blog! Typically, after a long day of work I usually only have enough energy to heat up a microwave dinner and call it a day. So while I’m still pretty AMPED, here’s the final verdict:

Price: $2.29

Taste: 7.5

AMPED Factor: 8.5
