FRS Healthy Energy is the first healthy energy drink I’ve tried thus far. I’m very happy to see that more and more healthy alternatives are becoming available. For those of you that are not familiar with the brand, FRS stands for Free Radical Scavenger. It’s a fitting name because it contains 325 mg of Quercitin, which is a powerful antioxidant found in the skins of apples, onions, and red grapes. It also contain 85 mg of green tea extract another source of antioxidants. Essentially, antioxidants are known to eliminate free radicals.
The FRS Healthy Energy Lemon Lime comes in a lime green can with a design in front that looks like something you’d see in chemistry class. The design is pretty plain in my opinion. I think they should put Lance Armstrong on the front or something since he does endorse the product and is a world famous athlete.
The 11.5 oz can of FRS Health Energy packs 325 mg of Quercitin, 85 mg of cattechins, 48 mg of caffeine, 29 g of sugar, and B Vitamins.
FRS lemon lime goes down very smooth and is not carbonated like your typical energy drink. To best describe the consistency, it’s pretty similar to one of Kern’s Nectar drinks. Overall, the taste is quite refreshing. It’s not sour or tart whatsoever, and there’s no wierd aftertaste. Also, don’t forget to shake the can before drinking. Otherwise, it will taste a little watery.
As far as getting me AMPED, FRS Health Energy drinks aren’t going to provide you with the big energy surge some of the big boy energy drinks provide. This drink is actually best if you want something that will give you energy bursts on a smaller scale for several hours. If you’re looking for something that will sustain your energy for long periods of time for activities that require great endurance like marathons for instance, then this is probably the drink for you. The great thing about FRS Health Energy drinks is that you’ll never crash or experience any jitters. Based on this alone, FRS Health Energy earns extra points on the AMPED scale.
Ok health nuts, here is my final verdict:
Price: $2.49
Taste: 8.5 out of 10
AMPED Factor: 8.5 out of 10
