Bad Boy Power Energy Drink Review

Hello boys and girls, today I will be reviewing Bad Boy Power Energy Drink. I picked up this bad boy, no pun intended, at a local Big Lots store. At first glance, this energy drink doesn’t really make you say, wow I have to try this, but after trying it I would recommend trying it too.

Bad Boy Power Energy drink comes in a 16 oz. can that is all black, and on the front is a picture of a face that i’m assuming is supposed to look intimidating and mean. It’s not the most creative design, so I can’t give it many points in that area. Bad Boy Power Energy drink contains about 50 grams of sugar and an undisclosed amount of B vitamins, taurine and caffeine.

As far as taste goes, it was actually pretty good. For a generic looking energy drink, I was pleasantly surprised. This was another one of those energy drinks that don’t clearly state what the flavor is on the can, so essentially I had to wait until after the first sip to gauge what the flavor was. Essentially, it tasted like a concoction of grape, citrus, and vanilla with grape being the dominant flavor. No need to worry about any weird or medicinal aftertaste, and I’d highly recommend you drink it ice cold. Then again I would recommend you drink all energy drinks ice cold.

Bad Boy Power Energy drink surprisingly had some pretty good kick to it. It got me AMPED for a good 2 to 3 hours. I also experienced an increase in mental focus and clarity, which is something I always look to achieve when drinking new energy drinks. I’d say it’s pretty comparable to some of the better know energy drinks on the market today. Since Bad Boy didn’t fail me in this area, I would definitely drink this again in the future.

Ok bad boys and girls, here’s my final verdict:

Price: $1.99 (I bought it for $0.60 at Big Lots!)

Taste: 8 out of 10

Hooters Energy Drink Review

Just the other day, I visited a Big Lots near my house, and I came across a goldmine of energy drinks at a great price. There were several brands to choose from, and each one was only $0.60! One of the brands I bought was Hooters Energy Drink. I was very surprised when I saw this brand because I was totally unaware Hooters even made an energy drink. I’m not going to lie, I’ve eaten at Hooters a couple of times, so I must say I was pretty curious what Hooters Energy Drink would taste like.

Hooters Energy Drink comes in a 16 oz. can featuring the recognizeable Hooters owl logo, accompanied by a beautiful brunette Hooters girl. One thing Hooters did fail to do was mention the flavor of the energy drink on the can. I had to read the list of ingredients on the back of the can to get an idea what it was going to taste like.

As far as ingredients goes, Hooters definitely wasn’t stingy. Hooters Energy Drink has 54 grams of sugar, 1900 mg of taurine, and 220 mg of caffeine. This energy blend is more than enough to get anyone AMPED.

I was definitely pleased with the taste of Hooters Energy Drink. To best describe it, it tasted like the orange part a sno cone I use to eat when I was a little kid. I was expecting it to have some kind of bitter or tart after taste, but Hooters actually did a really good job formulating their ingredients.

After I got through about half the can, I started to feel the energy kick in. My energy buzz lasted for a good couple of hours, however I did experience subtle jitteryness towards the end. There is a great deal of caffeine and sugar in this drink, so I’m not really surprised. All in all, I’d say the AMPED Factor was comparable to some of the more popular energy drink brands on the market today.

Whooooo Whooo is ready for the final verdict?

24:7 Green Apple Energy Drink Review

On Friday, I stopped by a local Walgreens and picked up 24:7 green apple flavored energy drink. This was my first time trying one of the 24:7 energry drinks, so I was pretty amped! 24:7 came in other flavors such as cherry and orange, but I went with the green apple flavor since I haven’t tried that particular flavor in any energy drink before.

There’s nothing too impressive about the packaging of 24:7 energy drink. On the front of the can you’ll see the 24:7 logo, and the overall design sort of reminds me of the movie, “The Matrix”. 24:7 comes in a 16 oz. can containing ingredients such as taurine, caffeine, glucuronolactone, citric acid, and B Vitamins.

To be honest with you, my expectations for the taste weren’t too high. After taking my first sip I was actually pleasantly surprised. The first thing I always look for is that there isn’t any medicinal taste. 24:7 passed this test. There was no medicinal taste whatsoever. The taste reminded me of a apple flavored Charms lollipop. The only thing I would say is that 24:7 energy drink was a little too sugary for me. But overall, 24:7 was pretty good, and I would probably drink it again.

As far as getting me AMPED, 24:7 green apple energy drink did a rather mediocre job. Its energy blend isn’t as powerful as some of the other energy drinks I have tried in the past, so I was a little disappointed in that respect. Also, due to the high amount of sugar this drink contains, I experienced a mild crash feeling after the energy buzz wore off. 24:7 did a pretty decent job with the flavor, now they just have to work on their formula of ingredients.

Ok, maniacs looking to stay up 24:7, here is my final verdict:

Price: $1.63

Taste: 7.5 out of 10

Venom Killer Taipan Mango Energy Drink

This past weekend I tried Venom Killer Taipan Mango Energy Drink. I must say I was pretty excited when I saw this on the shelf of my local grocery store. I have already tried Venom Mojave Rattler, and I truly enjoyed it. Venom Killer Taipan Mango Energy Drink is one of two new flavors offered by Venom. The other new flavor which I’ve yet to try is Fruit Punch.

Venom Killer Taipan Energy Drink comes in the same design as the other flavors except in a cool, vibrant yellow color which really pops out at you when you walk by. This 16.9 oz. can packs a 3000 mg energy blend of Taurine, L-Carnitine, Caffeine, Guarana, Inositol, Glucuronolactone, and Maltodextrin.

After taking my first sip, I knew I was in for a treat. I love anything Mango flavored, and this drink did not disappoint. Venom Killer Taipan had the perfect combination of carbonation and flavor an energy drink enthusiast could truly enjoy. My wife, who’s not the biggest fan of energy drinks because of the medicinal aftertaste some drinks leave behind, also gave it two thumbs up.

As far as the AMPED factor goes, Venom Killer Taipan Energy Drink is on par with some of the other big boy energy drinks like Rockstar. My energy buzz lasted for a good couple of hours which was more than than enough to help me crank through all of my weekend chores. I experienced a mild crash feeling towards the end, but that’s pretty normal especially if it is not a sugar free version.

Ok mango maniacs here is my final verdict:

Price: 1.99

Pitbull Sugar Free Energy Drink

Today, while I was at a liquor store at lunch, I came across Pitbull Sugar Free Energy Drink. At first glance, you would not expect much from this drink especially in taste. When most people see the name Pitbull, they’re probably thinking it’s some sort of generic knockoff of Redbull, but it’s certainly not.  This drink definitely has a taste and bite of its own.

Pitbull Sugar Free Energy Drink comes in a 16 oz. can, and I must say the design of the can is pretty gangsta. A Pitbull Energy Drink is pretty easy to spot. Just look for the can with a pitbull on front, and it’s probably the only bilingual energy drink I’ve seen so far.

After taking the first sip of Pitbull Sugar Free Energy Drink, I was pleasantly surprised. To be honest with you I was expecting something totally different. One of the things I was expecting was a medicinal after taste, but there was none to be found with this drink. Essentially, this drink tastes like a diet 7 up or a slightly sweetened ginger ale. I’m a big fan of lemon lime flavored drinks, and this one did not disappoint me.

As far as the AMPED factor goes, Pitbull Sugar Free Energy Drink did not let me down. After about 10-15 minutes I began to feel pretty AMPED. Hip Hop Beverage corp did an excellent job formulating the energy packed ingredients contained in this drink. If you’re looking for a drink to keep you going for a good 3-4 hours, this drink definitely fits the bill.

Bow wow wow yippee yo yippee yay, here’s my final verdict:

Red Light Energy Drink Review

Looking for an energy drink with sex appeal? Well you’re in luck! Today I will be reviewing Red Light Engery Drink. I came across an article mentioning their product, and it definitely sparked my curiosity. I wasn’t able to find this at any of the local stores in my area, but thanks to the folks at Red Light I was able to obtain some samples of their product.

I’d classify Red Light Energy Drink as the adult’s energy drink. From the packaging to the name, I think Red Light Energy Drink will appeal more to the older crowd, especially for those who like to enjoy a night on the town. I can already picture this drink as a favorite mixer in bars all around the country. I’m sure someone will come up with a cocktail called a “Red Light Special”, assuming that name doesnt exist already.

As far as taste goes, Red Light Energy Drink definitely takes the cake. It’s probably the best tasting energy drink I’ve tasted so far. It has a very crisp, tangy cherry flavor with a hint of lime to it. It’s very refreshing to the taste buds. If you were blindfolded you’d never know you were drinking an energy drink.

Red Light Energy Drink doesn’t pack the punch some of the bigger mainstream energy drinks provide, but it does provide a decent enough kick. Comparable to a strong cup of coffee, Red Light can keep you pretty AMPED for a good couple of hours, maybe more depending on your tolerance to caffeine. I’m sure if you had a couple of cocktails with Red Light mixed in, you can pretty much assure yourself that you’d have an ample supply of energy to party until the lights came on. Oh, and did I mention it has an ingredient called Shizandra that is supposed to increase libido!

Ok party people here’s my final verdict:

Monster Mixxd Energy Drink Review

Hello all! Today I’ll be reviewing a drink I recently tried called Monster Mixxd Energy Drink. I bought this particular drink at a local liquor store down the street from my work. Even though I’m not the biggest fan of Monster Energy Drinks, I have made it a mission to try every energy drink they have to offer. I mean who knows, I may stumble across a flavor I actually really like.

Monster Mixxd Energy Drink comes in a 16 oz can. The design of the can is pretty much similar to the Monster Khaos and the M-80 can design except is has a cool purple color for the Monster logo. Taking a look at some of the verbiage on the can, it says that they took a mixture of “back-up” flavors and tossed’em together. When I first read that I knew I was going to be in for a surprise.

At first sip, I really had no idea what to make of the Monster Mixxd Energy Drink. I couldn’t quite figure out what flavor this drink was. By looking at the color of the can, my first impression was that it would taste more like grape soda. This was not the case. I found myself taking sip after sip trying to figure what it tasted like. To be honest with you I didn’t like the drink at first, but the more I drank it the more I seemed to grow accustomed to the taste. As weird as it may sound I actually ended up liking it somewhat. I still can’t really put my finger on it, but I guess the best way to describe the flavor is that it tastes like a less carbonated Dr. Pepper with some juice mixed in. I’m a big fan of Dr. Pepper, so maybe that’s why I ended up somewhat liking the drink.

As far as getting me AMPED, Monster energy drinks never fail me. After drinking Monster Mixxd Energy Drink, I had plenty of energy to get through the rest of the work day. I always love that initial rush energy drinks provide. I had a lot of reports to run that day, and Monster Mixxd Energy Drink definitely helped me get through them with ease. I was a lean mean reporting machine!

Alright, don’t get your panties in a bunch, here’s the final verdict:

Price: $2.99

Nitro 2 Go Firepower Energy Drink Review

Today, I will be reviewing Nitro 2 Go Firepower Extreme Energy Drink. I was perusing through the energy drink section at a local 76 gas station, and I came across this energy drink. This is the first time I’ve seen this particular brand anywhere, so knowing me you know I wanted to try it.

Nitro 2 Go Firepower comes in a 16 oz all black can. On the front you’ll find the Nitro 2 Go logo, and on the side of the can you’ll find an image of a rock band with a website URL promoting their social media site. Shameless promotion if you ask me, but I guess it is a wise way to use up real estate on the can.

Overall I’d say the taste wasn’t bad but it was the best tasting either. It had a citrus flavors that is pretty standard for most energy drinks nowadays. Ultimately, there just wasn’t a wow factor in terms of taste. I always get disappointed whenever I try a new drink and the taste is just blah. The one thing i did like about this drink is the carbonation factor. I love highly carbonated drinks and this one definitely fit the bill.

For the AMPED Factor, I’d say it provided a decent kick. I had a bunch of errands to do today, and it definitely got me through them with a breeze. Nitro 2 Go Firepower definitely provided me with an ample supply of energy to knock out my errands, however I did experience a litte bit of a crash a couple hours later.

As far as price goes, in my opinion I think it was a bit pricey.  At 2.99, it’s definitely not budget friendly. However, I did buy this at a gas station, so maybe the price was a little inflated. Anyways, unless you can find this drink under $2.50, I dont’ think it’s really worth the price. Sorry Nitro 2 Go!

Sambazon Amazon Energy Acai Berry

The energy drink I will be reviewing today is Sambazon Amazon Energy Drink in an acai berry flavor.  You can purchase this particular brand at any Whole Foods supermarket near you. This is one of the few places I’ve seen carrying this brand, but I’m sure you can purchase it at any other health food store near you.

Sambazon Acai Berry Energy Drink comes in a thin 12 oz. can. The can has a striking deep purple color with shadows of palm leaves wrapping all around the can. You’ll also notice that the logo contains a picture of what looks like an Amazon warrior chief. The overall design of the can makes you feel like you’re drinking something exotic, which I’m sure was the whole intention.

Sambazon Amazon Energy Drink has a mild berry flavor to it. It’s not overly sweet and is carbonated with sparkling filtered water, which I think is a nice touch. It’s kind of like drinking a berry flavored Peligrino or a New York Seltzer(for those of you familiar with that drink). No need to worry about any weird aftertaste with this drink, it’s very refreshing and it will be sure to tickle your taste buds. I surely hope Sambazon will offer different flavors in the future.

Based on other all natural organic energy drinks I’ve drunk in the past, I really wasn’t expecitng a huge kick from Sambazon Acai Energy Drink. This drink is great if you need a small pick me, or if you want to sustain your current energy level for longer periods of time. Another great thing about this drink is you don’t have to worry about crashing or getting any jittery effects. What Sambazon lacks in the ability to get me AMPED, they make up for it in the high potent antioxidant ingredients that other big name energy drinks don’t possess.

Ok Amazon warriors here’s the final verdict:

Price: $2.69

Taste: 8 out of 10

AMPED Factor: 7.5 out of 10

Rockstar Juiced Mango Review

Today, I will be reviewing Rockstar Juiced Mango flavor, the first of three juiced flavors I’ve tried offered by Rockstar. I’m loving how more and more flavors are becoming available, especially fruit flavors like mango, guava, passion fruit, etc. I’m a big fan of mango, so I was anxious to see how they would incorporate the mango flavor in their energy drink.

Rockstar Juiced Mango, was pretty awesome tasting if I should say so myself. I was pleased to see that they left the carbonation in this drink. I’ve tried a couple of juice energy drinks, and the few I’ve tried so far have been non carbonated. The mango flavor was not overwhelming, and there was no weird aftertaste. There’s not many mango flavored carbonated drinks on the market, so this was definitely a treat. Rockstar Juiced Mango will definitely be an energy drink I’d like to enjoy again in the near future.

The AMPED factor for Rockstar Juiced Mango is pretty much on par with the rest of the Rockstar energy drinks. My energy buzz lasted for a good couple of hours, and accompanying it was an increase in mental focus and clarity. I was at work when I drank it, so you know I was cranking away on projects left and right.

Okie dokes, here is my final verdict:

Price: $2.54

Taste: 8.5 out of 10

AMPED Factor: 8.5 out of 10
